Review: 2LDK

For those of us not familiar with seeking accommodation 2LDK simply stands for two bedrooms, living room, dining room and kitchen. Bought in a cheeky boxset with Suicide Club and Moon Child (reviews to follow soon). I was not expecting much to be fair.

The plot is simple, two struggling actresses who are sharing an apartment are also competing for the same role in a film and the same boyfriend. It’s not long before petty squabbles turn in to full blown envy and soon enough it’s time for the games to begin!

Now the thing I like about this film is that it doesn’t mess about, as the envy builds between the girls small problems in the house which usually wouldn’t mean anything get turned around as ammo and a chance for them to argue with each other. It’s not long before the shit hits the fan and these two girls want to pull each other’s hair out….literally. We get to see a much darker side to both characters as the film progresses.

Due to the nature of the film there’s not actually a lot I can say without ruining the fun, however I believe this is a good watch. It’s very light hearted and full of laughs. The pace is very good and with a run time of 70 minutes you can’t really go wrong!

Short and sweet, this is definitely worth a watch, even if it’s just to listen to the Japanese talk bitchiness to each other which for me is pretty interesting itself. Definitely a keeper.
